Wonderful world of Period Dramas

Hi everyone ! I'm back with an post :).

My love for Period Dramas began with Pride and Prejudice (2005). I was 17 at the moment and I found the movie simply beautiful. I was obsessed I should say😊.

A few months after P & P, I was staying at my grandparents in summer and it was on an evening when we all gathered around the tv to watch something together. We did and when my family and I went to say goodnight and returned to our own little house (still at my grandparents) my grandpa turned the tv to Downton Abbey. I think they where somewhere in season 4 and I was wondering what that could be. I already knew I would love it and I wanted to watch it badly.

So we did and then I was hooked. Also my love for Period Dramas grew more and more.

How can I describe something as a Period Drama ? It is also called a historical drama. It is a period in past time. A time where we weren't born yet and a time I always want to live in, the loveliness of it all.

It is magical, different from this time and so compelling ! The beauty of it all, the costumes, estates, nature and all so much more.

I love the fact that in a period drama you can see all aspects of that time and how it was. All of it is based on historical events, written books or just made on a paper and turned into a movie/serie.

The wonderful costumes made for a Period Drama is just simply amazing. How much work is made into them and they turn out just beautiful. The details, the different colours, the lace...it's just so elegant. I just imagine myself with all those characters in Period Dramas in cinnema with a wonderful costume on.

Yes we also have so much inaccurate dresses/costumes that are involved in Period Dramas and there is nothing we can do about it. I do think it gives a touch of silliness into those Period Dramas :D.

All these little details put into these Perid Dramas are just amazing. The food on those majestic tables, crystal glasses, decor in those grand houses. It just makes it even better. Window peeking is also a favorite thing of mine in PD.

The streets where all those characters walk so beautiful and rightfully done. You can see everyone is in costumes and it is just built to fit the time period. How wonderful !

The nature, settings and houses are just simply wonderful. How I often imagine myself walking around in the woods meeting a up with friends, laughing and visiting grand houses :).  So much details yet again.....

Those wonderful dancing scene in Period Dramas. Just how amazing is that?!

The choreography of those dances are just simply beautiful and you can see that there was a lot of time spend in them, just to make it perfect in those movies/series. How dedicated actors/actresses are to perform just elegant dances just amaze me.

Love letters of just letters are so perfectly made. I also love the fact that every letter is sealed with wax to make it even more accurate to the time period. The written word is just such a delicate and personal form of communication. I would love to get a letter like that. Now we communicate through whatsapp and email. Altthough it is really handy yet it would be beautiful if we now and then wrote a letter. Maybe I should just do it, write a letter to my best friend with a sealed stamp on it :D.

The elegance between a lady and gentlemen is wonderful too. Now days we kiss each other on the cheek to greet but back in the time a lady and gentlemen didn't even kiss the hand but they greet with a bow and curtsies. The ladies had to be introduced to the gentlemen, now days we just go to each other to make a talk or meet new people. I really love the way we do it but in past time it was so elegant. And those balls and social visits ! I love them. :)

I do think everyone knows what I mean with past time but I will explain. Past time (period piece) is set or might be set in a vague or general era such as the middle ages or a specific period like the roaring twenties or regency era. :D

A historical drama also can be named as period drama, costume drama and period piece.

I also love the books in Period Dramas. The character reading a book to be specific. Delightful to see that in a PD, although I am not much of a reader. I used to be but now it's just gone. I did read a book last month so that is an improvement :).

Can we also talk about the jewerly in PD !!!!! All those glitter and gold and colours. Damn it is gorgeous. I myself love jewerly and I have to necklaces which kinda look like jewerly from a PD but except it is fake but it does glitter. I do love glitter. And oh the weddings we see !!! The dresses and the groom, all the little details it is just scrumptious ain't it ?!

The so many different hairstyles are splendid too. Such details with braids, ribbons and curls. It just wanna make me scream sometimes (does that sound weird?πŸ˜‚. I wanna have such a hairstyle so it makes sense, screaming). Have you seen the hats in PD ?! Some are so over the top but overal everyone is just so wonderful.

Oh the kids ! I love them. Although not every PD has kids but there are a lot that has and I just simply love it.

AND LET'S NOT FORGET THE COUPLES OF PD!!! How every single of of them is so cute and beautiful. They sure warm my heart. SOME.

Every character of a PD is so different. We love them, we hate them (with this I mean me) and I think the actors/actresses do a marvelous job potraying such complex characters. They are just in their role and it's exquisite !

Well, I'm gonna make an end to this post ! :)

Enola Holmes ~ Review

I am finally reviewing Enola Holmes. Shamefuly late I must say but....it's never too late to do a review.

The film is about young Enola Holmes who is searching for her missing mom and encounters many things on her way.

I was so excited for this film ! The funny thing was that I didn't even watch the trailer. I waited impatient for it's arrival on Netflix. I SAW IT THE MOMENT IS WAS ON NETFLIX πŸ˜„.

YEESSHHH, it was so good ! The whole storyline, the characters and all it's loveliness.

I have seen this film 4 times by now !πŸ˜‚ And still it's beautiful. And I'm still fangirling over it :)

Gosh Millie as Enola was just soo perfect. The way she potraited this character is so unique and special. I just felt I was alongside her in the entire story.

The cuteness, her facial expressions and the wildness like going on a bike through beautiful nature and doing reckless things made me even love her more.

We see her develope throughout the whole story and the fact that she can fight makes me wanna do something productful like sportsπŸ˜‚!

I also love the fact that this film showed us Enola her life through the eyes of everyone who was watching that you where besides her.

I LOVE HER !

Let me indulgde you and say that viscount Tewkesburry is the most sweetest character I've ever seen !😍

His eyes are the most beautiful and his face. The most caring, nature loving and sweetest character.

He's was smitten after he met Enola which makes it even better.

WHAT NOT TO LOVE ?!

Millie Bobby Brown (jup Enola) and Louis Paltrigde (the viscount) just have the sweetest friendship 😊

Sidenote: wasn't big fan of this wig/ Tewkesbury's first hair before the haircut

Sherlock is just wonderful. *there.....nothing more to say*

Enola's mom (played by Helena Bonham Carter) is just splendid. We didn't see her much but all her scenes with young Enola and her bond is just so lovely and wish I had made more adventures when I was younger.

You could find me outside a lot I must say when I was younger. Alongside my brother and 2 sisters we played 24/7 outside, making silly movies which turned out okayy and just playing around in every clothes we could find.

We shall continue....

THE WHOLE COUNTRYSIDE, MUSIC AND LITTLE DETAILS are just scrumptious ! And the house😍

And let us not forget the costumes are pretty freakin' lovely !

I love that fact that Enola's mom gave her little clues in the most wonderful ways, like the flowers, scrabble and words that are spelled backwords.

Everything is just wonderful in this film!

 !!!!SPOILER !!!!
For everyone who hates spoilers and hasn't seen this movie yet but I do except you have because this film is already out since September

We got an handkiss between Enola and Tewkesbury and it was freakin cute too see. No kissing scene but that handkiss made it even more special because it was so common in those times. And Enola didn't was into the whole marriage/having an husband thing so yeah....but I might think that has changed a bit after meeting the viscount but who knows

!!!!SPOILER OVER!!!!!

Overal I really loved and enjoyed this film ! We also need a sequel!

What are your thoughts ???
