When Calls the Heart review

It has been a while since my family and I watched the fourth season of When Calls the Heart. I wanted to make a review a long time ago. So I have finally the time to make this review.

The fourth season has been lovely, just like the other three seasons. There is coming a fifth seasons next year! Hurray!

The serie is based upon the books by Janette Oke, I have to read them one day. It's a lovely, funny and romantic serie, which is so fun to watch on cold rainy days or any other day. :)
What I really think is a mistake in this serie, is that some of the characters are wearing way to much make-up. And in the period where it's playing, they didn't had the luxure to buy make-up, well at least some lipstick. But without that, I LOVE it!!

Alright, let us take a look at the characters.

Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow)

Now, how do I describe her character? It's hard. Let me start at the very beginning of season 1. Elizabeth is used to a life with rich luxury life with all the comfort. To prove to her family that she can also life in the hard wild west, she takes a teacher posistion at Coal Valley (which turns later in Hope Valley) and heads to the wild frontier. She isn't used to that life, which is hard (you will notice that during the seasons), but she never gives up. Her life and heart belongs to teaching the children and nothing will get in her way, well......maybe one thing. I guess you know that already.😏
Constable Jack Thornton. Oh yeah you ladies. Alright, I'm being silly now. Elizabeth first don't like Jack at all, she can't stand him. He makes her blood boil, but eventually he wins her heart and she falls for him. And he for her. Happy ending! Stop, wait a second. This isn't the ending yet, because there is a lot to happen, not telling any spoilers. You have to see the serie yourself to find out. :)
Elizabeth has grown a lot through the seasons, from a scared and shy woman to a strong and not scared women. And the whole town loves her, she is part of it now. And her relationship with Jack is growing stronger through the seasons also.

Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing)
Speaking of Jack Thornton, he is the second main character of the whole show. He really didn't changed through the seasons, he is still the same old and romantic Jack. Be aware ladies!😉 He really loves his job and very loyal. He's a good friend too. If there is anything happening that isn't right, he will be there. About his relationship with Elizabeth, at the very start of season 1, he began to like her because of her clumsy moments. I must admit, she was very clumsy. And he bet whatever it takes on her little chocholate cake. Eventually he begans to love her and she him. So sweet, isn't that. They really belong together. :) And of course they have their ups and downs, but everything will be alright, will it?? Oh, and he has a dog named Rip.

Rosemary LeVeaux (Pascale Hutton)

Rosemary is my favourite character of the whole serie! She is hilarious! Okay, when we first saw her, I didn't liked her at all, she was very annoying and she was an obstacle of the love between Jack and Elizabeth, but she really changed. She can be stubborn, annoying in a good way, she is excited about everything and very funny. SPOILER ALERT!! she was the first fiancé of Jack SPOILER ALERT OVER! But eventually she gets over that fact and even find love with someone special. :) Rosemary has her own will, believes in her idea's and will take everything to make those happen and she never gives up. Which is very good, right? And her relationship with Lee Coulter is so funny and lovely. They really are great together.

Lee Coulter (Kavan Smith)

Lee is a gentle, kind and caring person. He is new in Hope Vallley as an owner of a sawmill. He and Rosemary where friends, but their relationshipe became stronger through the seasons. I really don't know what to say more about Lee. I must say that he is SO patient with Rosemary, because she sometimes makes everyone crazy with her ideas and things. But, he loves her that way she is and that is a good thing. And Rosemary loves him. :) They name each other names, which is funny. Rosemary calls him hunnybonny and he calls her Squidget. Isn't that hilarious?! I reallly love their relationship and it is always fun to see them together.

Abigail Stanton (Lori Loughlin)

What did I told you about to much make-up? :) Abigail is really important character in the serie. She kinda of the mother of everyone, she takes care of things. Abigail is kind, a true friend, never gives up so soon, a good mother and a good cook too. She runs a café on her own with Henry Gowen, later with Bill Avery. She loves the whole town and has a good heart. Even for people who are bad. About her relationship with men, there isn't really much to talk about. All I know it that she really likes the town pastor, Frank Hogan. They are courting. How fun. So, I'm done talking. Nothing to say. And she becomes major. That is strange, isn't it? I didn't think it is possible for women to become major, but Hope Valley is different from other villages.

Henry Gowen (Martin Cummins)

So, in any movie or serie there is a bad guy. Well, in When Calls the Heart there isn't. Just kidding, THERE IS. His name is Henry Gowen, the major of Hope Valley. Well, it's kinda hard to write about him. He's a bad guy, but not all bad guys are bad. Henry is annoying, very mean and sometimes kind. Through the seasons he becomes more softer then he was. In season 1 he was the owner of the mine, so he gave a lot of men a job, but it was the worst job you could ever had and it's didn't pay so much. But later it had to close, so he had to find something else. Then Abigail wants to buy a café and he sees his change into business. Abigail may have a café if she pays him the half of her yield. So unfair. In season 4
SPOILER ALERT! he loses his postition as a major and eventually ends up in prison SPOILER ALERT OVER! That was sad though.

So, there are more characters, a lot, but I won't review them all, it will be boring.

Clara and Jesse: They are a cute couple, it's a shame you don't see them so much in the serie
Bill Avery: I really didn't liked him at first, but now he is okay.
Frank Hogan: He is the pastor of Hope Valley and the love interest of Abigail. He is really serious.
The kids: They are all cuties!
Julie Thatcher: Sister of Elizabeth, she loves adventure, falls for the wrong guys, but is truly nice.

Alright, on to zee questions!

1. If you could rewrite the end of a book, which one would it be?

Hard questions. Let me think. The end of Fire by Night of Lynn Austin was sad, but I don't think I want to change that. So...I...am....going to skip.....this question. s.o.r.r.y.

2. Which fictional character are you most like?

Another hard question. Maybe Alice from Wonderland Creek. We look a lot like each other, but in some ways we don't. Or maybe Skye from The Penderwicks.
 3. Do you have any signed books?

Sadly, no. :(

 4. What's the best book you've read so far this year?

Yesterday I started reading Anne of Green Gables, and it's so lovely. I also read The Book Thief, but it was quite difficult to read, so I didn't read it till the end.

5. Do you have any bookish pet peeves?

I guess, yes. Like donkey ears or torn pages.

 6. Out of the books you have read this year, what has had your favourite cover?
 This one. :)

7. Is there a book that releases this year that you cannot wait to read?

Nope.

 8. What is your favourite non-fiction book?

Little House on the Prairie.

9. Do you have any favourite location and/or time period to have a book set in?

I love all the locations and time period of books. I can imagine myself standing right there, looking how the story ends. :)

10. Is there a book that reminds you of something else?

Nope, have no idea. skipping.this.question.
