Poldark ~ Season 2 ~ Review

Now this season is more compelling than season 1. There is a lot of trouble, but there is also happiness.

Season 2 begins with some flasbacks from season 1, Ross is taken by soldiers and Demelza stands alone on the cliff. Some of you, who watched Poldark, may remember that.

Ross is taken to prison because he is guilty at a robbery at the beach an other night. Of course he is not guilty, we all know, but George, the mean villain, wants him dead and accuses him of being guilty of the robbery. Ross is always trying to fight against George, he mostly wins, but in this case, it really looks bad for him.

Now we have Demelza, who really wants Ross to stay alive, because she would be lost without him. She fights alongside Ross to help him get out of jail, and to not be hanged.

Elizabeth also really tries to help Ross, which was quite annoying. But what I liked about her, that she and Francis really getting close to each other.

Now, let us take a look at the characters.

Ross changed a lot in this season. In season 1 he didn't appreciate Demelza as much as he should have done, but now he is necleting her, he's not informing her about his business, doesn't really pay attention what she does for him and their son Jeremy. I did like him in season 1, but my mind is changed now. He must deal with George, which is very hard, but he just wouldn't let Demelza help him.Ross isn't loyal to Demelza either.
Demelza is still the same. She really suffers from her husbands mistakes. Ross isn't aware of her pain he causes her. And in this season she is suffering with another news, a news she is afraid to tell Ross. But eventually she tells him and he is happy with it. There is always trouble on their way.
One of the troubles is that their is one woman who just can't leave Ross and Demelza alone.

And yes, I am speaking about Elizabeth. I began to like her, because she changed, Francis and her relationship becomes more seriously, but I might have it wrong. That is because Ross is always visiting her and can't leave her alone. She says she doesn't love him anymore, but in her heart she still loves him. Elizabeth, why can't you just leave Ross and Demelza alone? Live your life, and let them life their lives.

Francis is a man who changed a lot. I didn't liked him in season 1, but I do in season 2. He begins to give his family attention and helps with the land. He confronts George, finally saying what he wanted to say, he begins to love Elizabeth more and their son and becomes partners with Ross. He helps a lot in the mine. And then the awful accident happens, which made me cry.
There is a new character in season 2. Caroline Penvenen, a very wealthy girl who stays the summer by her uncle. She and Dwight Enys fall in love and eventually want to marry with each other. Like my brother would say, very predictable. But, a lot of things go wrong. Which is obviously. I guess they will be married in season 3. Dwight goes to the navy, leaving his fiance Caroline behind.

Dwight didn't changed. He is still a friend of Ross and a doctor who helps the poor. Which Caroline dissaproves first, but eventually she can live with that.
George Warleggan is still annoying, planning to ruin Ross his live forever. Hates it when he fails, laughs when he succeed. I don't like him, but he makes a pretty good villain. He eventually gets everything what he wants, he only have to do a lot of effort to succeed these things.

And then we have got Jud and Prudie, still the same, they make you laugh. We have got Jeremy, the son of Ross and Demelza, Geoffrey Charles, son of Francis and Elizabeth, Blamey and Verity, aunt Agatha and captain Henshaw and the investors.

There is one scene which isn't really appropraite for children. We just closed our eyes when it came up.
George doing his stupid fighting lessons.

It has been quite a while since we watched episode 6 from season 5, but the reason I am doing this post is because Cordy, an amazing blogger, has left a lovely comment on my Road to Avonlea post, saying that it would be a lovely idea to highlight some of my favourite episodes of Road to Avonlea. So, I decided to take her idea for a blog post, I should have done it much sooner, and her it is.

Main Ramblings

School is finally ready. I have been a whole year on school, and now it's done.

Yesterday I had my diploma and that was the day that didn't have to do school anymore.

Now I have vacation, for six weeks long. In September my new school year begins again, but that is still far away. No stress, not that I had so many stress during my school year, no studying and no worries.:)
My intership is over. It was fun, lovely and it was hard working, but I didn't mind, I could go horseback riding (do they call it like this in English?).
Now, tomorrow is my last day I will be there, just to help and maybe riding horse. Hope so.

It is really fun, driving a horse. Gallop is so fun, it goes so quick, you can not track the time.

NOW, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I PUT MY FACE ON THE INTERNET!!! *sqeesh!*
Me driving on Katoe, one of the white horses on my intership. He so sweet and it lovely to drive on him. He listen very good and really goes fast.
Now everyone has seen my face. :) Not that it is very visible, but you can see it. It was quite scary to put those pictures on the internet, but I am glad that only people who visist my blog, can see those pictures, so actually it isn't over the whole internet. :)
I am with my face on internet, with an large cape on my head, that's for safety, you can't drive without a cape.

8 July was my birthday. It is quite late to tell, but I don't care. We went to our grandparents and stayed there the weekend. Which was very lovely. My uncle's, aunts, newphew and niece came to visit. It was a lovely day, with a camp fire, delicious home made pizza and a lot of games. :) It was quite a birthday.

Movies/series I have seen the couple months

-Poldark season 2
-Poldark season 1 (for the second time)
-White Collar
-The animated version of Robinson Crusoe
-Ballerina
-Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
-Penelope
-The Next Karate Kid
-Road to Avonlea
I have been neglecting blogging. I had it busy doing other things. But I hope to stay blogging, now I have vacation. There will be a lot of days that I can blog. :)

I am searching for a vacation job during my vacation. I am quite nervous, I actually didn't had any jobs at all, except delivering papers, but that doesn't reallly count. I applied for home care, and I can sign the contract thursday. So I can begin next week, I hope.

Well, I guess this is it. :)

Hope you all have a lovely day! And summer!

Poldark ~ Season 1 ~ Review

I will also review Poldark season 2, but for now, I will review the first season of Poldark.

We are watching it right now, for the second time. My grandparents have lent the first season from their library and wanted to watch it for a very long time. So, here we are, watching Poldark again.

Sadly, it is almost over again. It has 8 episodes, which is very short.

It is set in 1780s in Cornwall, which absolutely an gorgeous location which I must visit one day. Ross Poldark returns from the American War of Independence to find his father dead, his house in ruins and his sweetheart is engaged to his cousin.
Finding out that his sweetheart is engaged with his cousin, breaks Ross heart and isn't the old Ross anymore. He assumed after he returned from the war, Elizabeth, his sweetheart, still be there, waiting for him to get back. Instead she gets on with her life and is to be married to his cousin, which name is Francis.

Now, Francis is a horrible person. When we first saw Poldark, my mind about him was very quick to judge. It changed through out season 2. He marries Elizabeth, but struggles by the idea Elizabeth is still loving Ross. Elizabeth claims she doesn't love Ross anymore, but Francis still doesn't believe in her. Instead, he gambles his mine, often visit the Red Lion and break any contact with Ross.

Ross has left Elizabeth aside, which I am glad about. Guess what, he meets Demelza. :)
In a dog fight. A very strange meeting, I can assure you. Ross is thinking she is a girl, but instead she is a woman. Okay, at the first beginning she looks actually like a kid, but that changed. Happily. She used to wear her brother's clothing, to escape her father. And then she becomes Ross his servant, which becomes a romance.

Ross and Demelza are getting married in episode 3, which is lovely. I love them as a couple. There are coming a lot of difficult things in their marriage, but it always, mostly, ends good.

And then we have Jud and Prudie, which are the funniest and laziest couple of Poldark. They where good friends of Ross his father, but they took advantage of his death, living in his house and leave it dirty and not cleaned. Then Ross returns and they have to work for him. Which displease them.
Like Jud would say: ''T'int fit, T'int right, T'int fair, T'int proper.''

Verity Poldark is a sweetheart. She is kind, always see the joy in anything, even wen it gets wrong and always takes care of everything. She is unmarried, has no children, but wants to find love hardly. Everyone says it is not possible for her, because she is over the 30. But she always keep believing and eventually she finds love, that gives her a lot of trouble.
Who can't like Verity?

There are a lot of more characters, best friend of Ross, Dr. Dwight Enys, the miners, the investors and a lot more.

The nature, the houses, the scenery, the horses, everything is beautiful.

The actors and actresses did an amazing job of playing the characters.

Ruby Bentall (Verity) also plays Minnie Mude in Lark Rise to Candleford.

Aidan Turner (Ross) and Eleanor Tomlinson (Demelza) are married in real life.

The series are based upon the book of Winston Graham.

All the mines and roofs are studio creations.

Aidan Turner (Ross) can dance very good.

Aidan Turner (Ross) hates gym and is not a fan of social media.

Eleanor Tomlinson's (Demelza) brother is named Ross.

Demelza's dog Garrick is Eleanor Tomlinson's real dog, which name is Burt Bacharach.

Have you seen Poldark????
