How it all began, the growing romance between Robin and Marian.
(There will be SPOILERS!!!!)
Now, we all love the relationship between those sweethearts. Don't we?
Before Robin went to fight at the Holy Land, he and Marian were engaged. But Robin thought it was his duty to fight next to his king at the Holy Land, so, off he went, leaving Marian alone, with no promise if he is ever going te return back.
Years later, they meet again. That is actually the first time we see Marian, with a bow, which is cool. I really loved her the first time I saw here, standing next to her father, telling Robin to leave. <3
But, they must meet again, and they do. Marian is telling Robin that he is a fool and he must grow up. He stil loves her, you can see it ever time in his eyes, when he sees her. He still has a big part of her heart, even though he left her to fight with his king in the Holy Land. She knows and he knows.
We also have that Guy and Marian issue, which has put my mind thinking what is going to happen with the relationship of Robin and Marian. But, as we all know, Robin wins at the end, don't think at the consequences of the issue.
Guy is actually a fly who is buzzing aroud Marian, leaving Robin think if she still loves him or not. I know I sound hard against Guy, but he can be annoying, sometimes. In season 3 he changes.
Actually Marian plays with both Guy and Robin's feelings, she is not really playing with their feelings, she does what is the best for her and her father. They both love her, but only one can win her heart. Guy is always buying presents for Marian, showing his feelings in a quite way for her.
Another obstacle is that Robin is an outlaw and she lives with her father in a small town, later in the castle of the sherrif of Notthingham as a prisoner. She is not allowed to see Robin, because he is an outlaw, but she does.
And then we have the episode where Marian almost dies. Robin tells her that he loves her, which she doesn't hear. Thanks to dear Allan A Dale she was saved.
''I'm not being funny, but she is breathing.''
Marian almost wedded Guy of Gisborne, but Much thought her reconsider her decision. Which was a relief, because if that happened, all hopes would float for Robin. Then Marian finally discovers that she loves Robin.
Then, a few weeks later, Guy is still angry on Marian for leaving him at the altar, Marian's father dies. It is very heartbreaking for her, because she loves him with all her heart. Guy wants to comfort her, but she neglects him and seek for protection of Robin.
And then they are finally happily together! <3
Marian leaves the castle and her father's old home and lives with Robin and the other gang members in the woods. But, they both can be stubborn, so they argue a lot with each other, disagree with a lot of things. Robin thinks Marian can't join the gang when they try to safe people from the sheriff and Guy. But, stubborn as she is, Marian ignores Robin and joins them. But, they are sorry and make things good.
Robin proposes and Marian says yes. <3
Then Marian turns back to the castle, but she and Robin still meet. She is his little spy, like Allan would say, little Marian bird told him, giving him information about the sheriff's plans.
Marian finds out that Robin died, which is not true, and tries to kill the sheriff. She is taken to the Holy Land with Guy and the sheriff. Robin finds out that she is taken to the Holy Land and goes after her. With the other members of the gang. Because, we must not forget them.
Guy and the sheriff are trying to kill the king, and Robin tries to stop them.
Guy wants to kill the king, who is injured with an arrow, but Marian stops him and beg him not to kill the king. Guy says he must and then.....she tells him that she loves Robin. Guy gets furious and stabs his sword in her stomach. She falls and Guy stands there, watching like a statue.
Robin comes running to Marian and screams NOOOO!!! Guy jumps behind the sheriff and they leave.
Robin and Marian continue their vows of marriage. Robin gives Marian a ring and the marry. And then the awfullest thing happened, our herione Marian dies. Robin teturns to England, heartbroken.
This is the story of two young lovers, who find love, although their are a lot of obstacles in their way. The end is tragical, it shouldn't have happened.
At the end of season 3, they find each other and live happily ever after.
Robin and Marian forever. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Like most of you know, Olivia from Meanwhile, in Rivendell, is hosting a Robin Hood week!!!
JIHHAA!!! Let the party begin. *throws confetti all over the room and jumps around*
Okay, let me be seriously. Let me start with answering all the lovely questions of the Robin Hood tag.
What was your first exposure to Robin Hood?
The Disney version. I really watched it over and over when I was little.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how big a fan are you?
I am not really a fan of the book(s) nor the other movies, but I really love the BBC series a lot,
so, I should say from 4 to a 7. But for the bbc version, I would say from 7 to a 10. :)
How many versions and spin-offs of the legend have you experienced?
The Disney version, the 2010 movie, which is the worst Robin Hood movie I have ever seen, and the BBC version.
What is your favorite version of Robin Hood (can be book, movie, TV series, anything)?
Haha...You probably have quessed it already. It's the BBC version!!
Are you one of the lads? (Meaning, have you watched/are you a fan of the BBC show?)
A big yes for me.
Who is your favorite Merry Man?
Allan A Dale.
Do you have a favorite portrayal of Lady Marian?
Lucy Griffiths as Marian. She is the best.
Do you have any interest in or aptitude at archery?
I take an interest in it, not aptitude. I never have tried it, but it would be fun to do.
Fact or fiction -- which do you think?
I think a little bit of both of them. But there was one man, which we gave the name Robin Hood, who stole from the rich to give it to the poor long ago. At least, I have read it somewhere on internet. But it can be fiction too, but I rather think it is a fact.
Do you think Robin Hood has been "done to death," or are there still new twists that can be found?
I just leave it just the way it goes in the movies or serie. :)
So, before I start, I want to apolagize for neglecting my blog entirely. The weeks has been busy, so I had no time making any blog posts. But I will try to catch up.
Let's start.
Hello there!!! Before I start filling your mind, I wanted to wish you all a Happy Mother's Day!
It has been very quite on this blog, and I am sorry for neglecting it. I really love blogging, but the weeks had kept me very busy. I have to go to school every day, learning a lot, and two days in a week I have to walk intership. The whole day. So that explains my long absence.
There is coming a new header one of these days, I thought, let me warn you all. :)
We finally have finished season 2 of Road to Avonlea. I wish there where more seasons for us to watch. The only seasons who are in the library are season 1 and 2. If you want to watch the other seasons, you have to buy them. So, we have to wait until all the seasons come in the library. :( I can not wait till they are. I really want to watch them all, however they are not with dutch subtitels, but I don't care, I can inprove my english if I watch them without dutch subtitels. Anyway, we have to wait. Maybe I will buy them one day, who knows.
We watched Anne of Green Gables too. Such a lovely movie. You just can look it over and over, without having enough of it. It's funny, because Marilla, Rachel Lynde and Gilbert do appear in Road to Avonlea. Gilbert is only seen in one episode of serie 3. Marilla and Rachel appear very often in the show. It was so funny watching them in both Anne of Green Gables and Road to Avonlea.
I am proud to say I am writing a story. :)
The title is called The English Girl. And yes, the picture above is a scene of the story.
So, here's a little piece of the story.
1/ Arriving at Storyfield
I was seventeen when my dad died. My mom was very young when she died, I was only fourteen. She left me alone with my dad, who has been drinking all the time since my mom past away. Often I cried myself to sleep, thinking how my life would be if my mom still lived. It became a difficult time for me. In the recent years, my father was never home. He often went drinking with his friends and stayed there for the night. And when he was home, he was always drunk. I often went to my room when dad came home, afraid for his anger. Now he was dead. I felt relieved, although I knew that it should not feel like that. Dr Marshall said that he killed himself with his drinking habbits. I knew my dad wasn't rich, nor poor. But he secretly has arranged a place to stay for me. Far away, with my aunt, which I only know by name. Aunt May Winsfield. Dad left a little bit money for me, to pay my ticket. Hardly enough. Dad's estate and stables where property of my uncle. He was fond of money, with his sharp nose and big belly. He had been married, but his poor wife walked away with their little son Daniel. She couldn't stand him. He never washed himself and he snored. I wanted to leave soon so I did not have to see him. I was looking forward living by my aunt. It seems excited. She lives in a little village named Storyfield. I picked my suitcase and went to bed.
The next morning I woke up early, the sunshine shine through the big window. I forgot to close the curtains. Apparently, Vera didn't do it either. Vera is my maid. I really hoped for her that she could stay here. I quickly slipped into my clothes. I made a easy braid in my hair and went downstairs, with my suitcase in my hand. I was ready to leave. I quickly looked over my shoulder to see my old room. It was time for a fresh start somewhere else. Vera was early up today, because I met her in the hall. She looked at me with her big eyes, looking at the suitcase in my hand.
''Where are you going, miss?''
''I have to go. My train leaves soon. Here, this letter explains everything. Bye dear. I will miss you. Say hi to little Louis for me!''
''But miss.....''
''I'm sorry, I have to go, I will mis my train and I can NOT wait untill the next one.''
I put the letter in her hands and gave her a quick hug. And there I went, on my way to the unknown.
Now, that is a little piece of my story. :)
Enjoy!
