We Love Pirate's Week | Elizabeth Swann

Avast ye ! I am back again with another post of the We ❤ Love Pirate's Week. 

Today that I will be writing about Elizabeth Swann from the POTC franchise :)

Main ramblings and sorts..... 

I remember the day I first watched POTC. It was with my family and we watched At World's End (I have no idea why we saw that one first) and we where around 20 minutes in and my mom said we ain't watching this. This was mainly because Davy Jones with his tentacles was kinda weird and creepy for my younger brothers and sister. So we turned it off. 

But I was curious and I needed to watch the POTC films for myself. And I did. I loved it. I also started first with Curse of the Black Pearl. 

Fun fact is that my best friend recommended the POTC films and I am so glad she did!

Can you believe she was 17 here ? (I cannot)

 Elizabeth led a fairly sheltered life of privilege throughout her childhood. She is raised by her father Governor Swann. 

She was always fascinated by pirates since she was a little girl. I really believe everyone is fascinated by pirates when they lived in that era. I would! 

Elizabeth was kinda a damsel-in-distress in the first movie. I don't wanna judge her and I still do love her. She needed to be rescued but we can blame the corset for that. And I mean who doesn't want to be saved by Jack Sparrow. 

I really believe she changed throughout the films. She became a queen!

I think Elizabeth is really cool. She turned from damsel-in-distress to pirate queen. Who would have thought?!

Keira Knightley has been my heroine and someone I look up to for a very long time now. I still look up to her and she portrayed Elizabeth Swann so wonderful.

The OH THE HEAT SCENE is the best scene. I loved how Elizabeth tried to get the men's attention but that I didn't work. They just kept fighting. I really laughed! In a good way. 

I really didn't like it that she wasn't in the 5th film, Dead Men Tale no Tales, but I loved that we saw her in the ending scene. I would have loved to see how the plot was with Elizabeth in it. Oh I do wonder!

I think what is interesting to is that Elizabeth find herself drawn to Jack because of her obsession with pirates when she was a little girl. We all known where her heart truly lies but anyways. I kinda was really fun. The flirtations between them :). 

What is there more to say about Elizabeth. I really wonder, it is difficult I might say. 

A thing that I also love about Elizabeth that she can make tough decisions. She can be fierce. That is I think also the reason why Jack chose her to become the pirate king, cause she can make decisions and doesn't have any second thoughts. 

 She can wield a sword, which is awesome. 

Her costumes are amazing ! 

She defends herself. And not only with swords.

I love how her relationship with Will makes them explore the beginning of a love story. 

Elizabeth doesn't try to be masculine (she finds strength in her femininity).

Over all she is a heroine and she has become one of my most beloved characters in the fictional world. 

And with this said I will close up this post :)

My mood right now :)

1) What are your favorite pirate movies or books ?

OOHHH The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. I do love The Princess Bride too (it is kinda a pirate film, correct me if I am wrong😏). If Peter Pan is also a pirate film count that one in !

2) Who are your favorite fictional pirates ?

I would say Jack Sparrow for sure :) I do love Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner too, just all characters are lovely.

 

3) What do you like the best about pirate stories ? (themes, costumes, aesthetics, etc.)

 

I would say the aesthetics😍

 

4) If you were going to play a pirate on the stage or screen, what would you costume look like ?

 

I would definitely wear something like this only without the high heels. Just plain flat boots are good for me. We ought to run am I right fellow mates ?!

5) What pirate ship would like to serve on ?

I think the flying dutchman, that's kinda of a cool ship. 

6. Any favorite sea shanties or pirate songs ?

Yo ho (a pirate's life for me)

7) Have you ever participated in International Talk Like a Pirate Day?

No, to be honest no. I don't know if I would ever participate. I would known what to say😂

8) Would you like to go sailing on a real tall ship?

Sign me up!! That would be awesome. I saw a ship once at the dock of a river and it looked so much like a pirate ship! Sadly I couldn't get in but took a picture. 

9) Have you ever learned anything about real pirates, or do you tend to stick to the fictional kind ?

I have looked up about real pirates when I started watching the POTC franchise but it kinda blew up in my mind. Can not really rememember anything now. 

10) Why is the rum gone  

I've had it with wobbley-legged, rum soaked, PIRATES !

10 Random Facts | About Me

Don't you love it to be in a gorgeous field with your bestie picking flowers and just enjoy life ?!

I wonder if people even read my blog 😂 Of course they do. I am being silly..sorry.

I changed my entire blog again, into pinkish vibes and I love it. Also refreshing my whole  blog, deleting some posts that are horrible and just write new things, FRESH things. Enjoyable things. 💙

To start fresh here are 10 random facts about me :)

 

1) I am born in Africa 

People seriously look at me super strange and suprised whenever I tell them I am born in Africa. Usually I only tell them if they ask😄. I just am proud that I am born somewhere else then Holland. I now life in Holland for 10 years now.

2) I have a big family

 I have 3 sisters and 3 brothers. And my dad, mom and me included that is 9 total. LOVE them all so much.

3) I am obsessed with Period Dramas

You all probably knew this already but yeah here you have it. I actually have an period drama instagram account where I post pictures of different period dramas and I share my love for them and meet new people who also share an love for PD.

4) I have been to 7 countries

I have been to Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Sweden, Germany and Suriname. And including Africa. 🌎

5) I think out-loud 

Yep so true. It really helps me memorize things. It does :) 

6) I love tea

Wow I just put tea in my random facts about me😂 It is true. Tea is my weakness just like chocolate. I drink tea every day and it is just so good. And good for your health too.

7) I was on ballet

I was around 10-12 years old if I can remember correctly. I did if for a few months but didn't really quite like it. I do remember it was like a modern ballet and not the classical ballet.

8) I like to keep things tidy

(I don't like a mess, it gets me frustrating. That is why my room is always clean. But sometimes I just forget to tidy up and leave it for a few days. Until it gets on my nerves. Then I clean up :D

9) I am not a morning person 

I have a hard time standing up in the morning :)

10) I am blonde

Way to end the facts :D So I am a naturally blonde. Still am. Have not dyed it. All my other sisters/brothers where blonde when they where little but their hair turned dark blonde. Mine still blond. I do love the fact that I am the only one with like blonde hair in the family.

Favorite movie couples and why I love them | Lovely Blog Party

Greetings fellow bloggers ! I am back again with another post. 

For Cordy's lovely blog party I chose to do a post about my favorite couples of movies and why I love them so much :D

  Number 1 Elizabeth and Mr Darcy

squeesh* Do I need to name a reason why I love them ?! I MEAN....LOOK AT THEM....

To be honest I love the fact that they where enemies at first, slowly falling in love with each other. How they slowly blossom to getting deep effection for another. The sense of humour while they challenge each other. And can we talk about the first proposal 😍 How Mr Darcy confessed he loved Elizabeth not thinking what it would do to them and whatnot.

Well there you have it !

                                                Number 2 Marian and Robin

Ah those two sweethearts ! How can I explain sincerely....There romance slowly growed througout the seasons and it is just beautiful. 

How in sink they are to each other is just remarkble. They find there way back to each other every time. There relationship is not really complicated but the fact that Robin is an outlaw is much harder cause Marian lives in the castle with her father. 

What makes their relationship so much better is that they always find there way back to each other not matter what. They are endgame that is what it is😊

  Number 3 Anne and Gilbert

  (Anne of Green Gables)

These two !! Can not explain how much I love them. They where my first ever favorite couple since 4 years now and they still are😍 

Also I think they story is just so great. Anne hated Gilbert (hate is a big word let's say didn't like him at ALL) and Gilbert was smitten they day they met. Which makes it even more better cause Gilbert really challenge Anne. They developed a great friendship together and romance later on. And it is just so cute !

Number 4 Emma and Mr Knightley

Is there any cuter couple in the fictional world then these two ?! I don't think so. They are supreme...that's it, not turning back. Ok\ayy I will stop. I'm being weird. Sorry though. :D They have this special friendship that goes way back and is just so amazing. They are there for each other. And that friendship turned something much more. A romantic way (obviously). I just LOVE them, there nothing more to say :)

Number 5 Enola and Tewkesberry

(Enola Holmes)

I may not forget these two !!! I loved the fact they met on a train. 

Their relationship is like a good friendship mixed with sparks of attraction. They both can rely on each other and I really think that is something special. 

WE NEED A SEQUEL ASAP !!!!😍

Number 6 Ella and Kit 

(Cinderella)

I really believe these two are soulmates. 

There first meeting was truly adorable😍. They way they talked to each other and just making circles while sitting on a horse. What I also loved is that Kit doesn't really care wheither she is a princess or a countrygirl. He likes her goodness, liking her for who she truly is. He seriously never looked down at her status. He wanted to marry her no matter what. 

They are made of each other.

Number 7 Emma and Captain Hook/Killian

(Once Upon a Time)

I really wasn't sure about these two. They started at the wrong start and that really stayed for that for a while. But the attraction between them was really strong and no doubt they where gonna come together eventually. But something made me change my mind about them. 

They have a great kinship based upon that they both understand each other. I believe their past drew them together because both of them have not great pasts. They both grew to each other and became an iconic couple :).

 

Number 8 Matthew and Mary

(Downton Abbey)

Ah they are so iconic ! They where the heart of Downton of sure. 

Soo, Matthew was really smitten by Mary when they first met but Mary wasn't that fond of Matthew. Everyone wanted Mary to marry him but she didn't really wanted that. He was the one to inherit Downton. 

They had their fights and dislikes to each other but that sincerely grew into something more. Matthew sparks something in Mary which she let us show her soft side and ohhhhh......I simply love them. 

Number 9 Caroline and Stefan 

(The Vampire Diaries)

They seriously have the softest relationship I know. I really don't enjoy this show as much as I did before but I live for these two. The only reason I watched the show :). 

Stefan and Caroline have been really long friends without some romantic sparks between them. Not even a bit. They where there for each other, supported each other and where really close friends. Even when one of them was in danger the both did everything to get them to safety. Caroline was the first one to ever feel something more than friends and Stefan had a hard time dealing with that (which makes absolutely no sense but I have to cope with that). Which made Caroline do not so good things because Stefan couldn't answer a question and her mom died.

But enough of that ! They eventually became a couple and even got married. Which is so cute. I really love the fact their relationship started as best friends and eventually they became a couple (which was a super bumpy road). 

 

Number 10 Sybil and Tom

(Downton Abbey)

Such a lovely lovestory these two have. I mean, LOOK AT THEM. TRUE LOVE. CUTIES. 

So Tom is an chauffeur at Downton and Sybil is a lady. Their relationship really growed throughout the seasons and it is really cute. 

Tom represents everything that will take Sybil away from her house and the life she is living. Sybil really wants more in life than marry with someone of nobel like her and have kids. She is more interested in politics and much more. That is what I like about Sybil so much. And Tom became part of her life. 

So, running away is not a great idea but I really do get why they did that. Mary was there to prevent it to happening and I was glad. But all the crawleys had a real hard time to accept that Tom is part of their family. 

What I love about them is that they are so in love and do anything to be with each other. 

 

Number 11 Elizabeth and Will

(Pirates of the Caribbean franchise)

The most power pirates couple in the universe of fictional couples. 

Need I say more ? 

The fact that they are very young and are at the breach of love, finding what is is and simply loving each other is so beautiful. I love that. 

 

Number 12 Amy and Arthur 

(Little Dorrit)

These two are just adorable ! Their whole story is on point and I sincerely love it. So Amy definitely fell for Arthur instantly but Arthur is the opposite.

Amy just literary gave so many clues but he just sees through them. ARTHUR!!! Pay attention😂. But I really love that their friendship in the beginning it is so lovely. And the moment Arthur realises it is Amy who he loves is just adorable! Poor John Chivery......He told how Amy really feels for Arthur and he broke his heart by doing it. 

 

Number 13 Caroline and Dwight 

(Poldark)

Soulmates (I do use this word often!). They are the definition of perfection. How well they actually suit together. It is a bumpy road from the throughout the seasons but they always make there way back to each other. 

I love it that Caroline is of high standard and Dwight is a doctor. Their romance is so cute and wonderful. I love them!

Number 14 Jesse and Rebecca

(Full House)

Definitely my favorite and the cutest couple! 

I believe that their first meeting each other is so cute and it was love at first sight. Do people believe that ?! I do :). Becky (Rebecca's nickname) challenges Jesse, she cared about his family even before they got married of started dating and they support each other. 

I just simply love them. That's it 😊.
